Size 46cm Wide x 31cm High. This authentic Big Tree Enamel Sign is a remarkable survivor from the golden age of New Zealand motoring. Strong evidence suggests it once hung proudly at the Waitanguru Dairy Factory, which opened in September 1913 alongside sister factories in Piopio (1910) and Marokopa (1911). The Story Behind This Treasure: � Found in the original factory buildings by the current farm owner � In the mid-1920s an addition to the building was added for factory trucks as the company grew before closing its doors in 1927. � Features the classic porcelain enamel construction of early 20th century signage � Originally flanged (since removed, as was common) � could be restored by rewelding for display
